A coyote trapped in a cooler at an Aldi in Humboldt Park was rescued by police and is now in the care of animal control

Chicago: So, you won’t believe what happened at an Aldi in Humboldt Park. A coyote got itself stuck in a cooler, and it was quite the scene!
Police officers had to step in to rescue the little guy. They pulled it out by its tail, and it looked super panicked. There’s even a video of the whole thing that went viral!
In the video, you can see two officers poking around the cooler, trying to figure out how to get the coyote out. One officer finally reached in and pulled it out, and you can hear him warning the others to watch out.
Once freed, the coyote tried to jump back into the cooler. Thankfully, no one got hurt during the rescue. The animal was taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control.
They said the coyote is healthy but will be checked out before being released back into the wild. It’s worth noting that this time of year is when coyotes are more active due to mating season.
So, if you see one, just keep your distance and don’t leave food out. It’s all part of living in the city!
