Chicago: You won’t believe what happened at an Aldi! A coyote made its way into the store’s refrigerated section, and it was quite the sight.

Shoppers were in for a surprise when officers showed up to wrangle the wild animal. They even used broomsticks to poke around the shelves, trying to find it.

In a wild twist, one officer spotted a furry tail sticking out and yanked it out. The coyote tumbled onto the floor, looking a bit confused.

It quickly darted back among the cold products but was eventually caught by animal control around 10 a.m. They said the coyote seemed fine but would be checked out.

According to Chicago Animal Control, the coyote is now at a facility waiting to be transferred to a wildlife rehab center. They’ll make sure it’s healthy before letting it go back into the wild.

A witness mentioned that the coyote had been wandering around the parking lot before sneaking inside. It seems like it was just looking for a place to hide.

Stan Gehrt from the Cook County Coyote Project explained that sometimes these animals make mistakes while trying to avoid people. This isn’t the first time a coyote has ended up in a store!
