The Cowboys are set to interview Robert Saleh following Mike McCarthy’s departure, marking a new chapter for the team.

This is the first interview request for Saleh since McCarthy’s firing. The Cowboys are not alone; the Jaguars and Raiders have also shown interest in him.
Jerry Jones, the Cowboys’ owner, is really focused on finding the right fit. He’s even chatted with Deion Sanders about the job. There’s also talk about Jason Witten being in the mix.
Saleh, who’s 45, has a solid background as a defensive coordinator with the 49ers and has coached linebackers for the Jaguars. He’s already had interviews with the Raiders and is a strong contender for the Jaguars’ position too.
If things don’t pan out for him as a head coach, he might just head back to San Francisco as their defensive coordinator.
The Cowboys could also go big and try to snag a veteran coach like Pete Carroll or even make a move for Mike Tomlin to shake things up.
Last season, the Cowboys finished 7-10, struggling without Dak Prescott for most of the year due to an injury. They haven’t had much playoff success lately, not making it past the divisional round since their Super Bowl win in 1995.
