Conor McGregor faces a civil lawsuit for alleged sexual assault during the 2023 NBA Finals in Miami, involving an anonymous woman.
This lawsuit comes after McGregor was already found liable for a separate sexual assault case back in 2018. The woman, who remains anonymous, says McGregor assaulted her while he was part of the game’s entertainment.
The suit claims that the Miami Heat and the arena were negligent by serving McGregor alcohol even after he appeared intoxicated. It also mentions that McGregor’s behavior was out of control during the game.
Witnesses say that after the game, someone close to McGregor led the woman away, warning her that “Conor will kill me if I lose you.” The lawsuit describes a disturbing encounter in a bathroom where McGregor allegedly tried to force himself on her.
A video surfaced showing McGregor leading the woman into the bathroom, but security blocked the door. The woman tried to escape, but McGregor reportedly slammed her against a wall.
Despite the serious allegations, McGregor has denied any wrongdoing, calling the claims a “shakedown.” He wasn’t charged criminally due to a lack of evidence.
Now, the woman is seeking over $75,000 in damages for medical treatment and other costs. Her lawyer emphasized that this civil case is her only option for justice after the prosecutor decided not to pursue criminal charges.
McGregor was at the game promoting a pain relief spray and had a controversial interaction with the Heat mascot, Burnie, who ended up injured and hospitalized. Following his previous sexual assault ruling, McGregor has lost several sponsorships, including a major whiskey brand he helped create.
