Moss Bank Junior Football Club faces a crisis after vandalism leaves all pitches unusable, impacting hundreds of young players.

The club found out about the damage on Monday, and it’s a real bummer. The secretary mentioned that with the weather being what it is, they won’t be able to fix the pitches until March. That’s a long wait!
Marcus Howarth, the club secretary, said the vandals have caused three months’ worth of damage. With 56 teams and around 650 kids playing, losing all those pitches is a huge blow. He’s worried about where to put the 18 teams that usually play on those fields.
It’s tough because they either have to cancel games, which is a real downer for the kids, or ask other teams if they can play at their place instead. Marcus gave a shout-out to Bolton Council for their support during this rough patch, saying they’ve done everything they can.
He expressed frustration about the vandals having their fun while the club and parents are left to deal with the costs. If they have to switch games, it means extra travel for families. Plus, the money from parents that should go back into the club for the kids is now needed for repairs.
Marcus was really upset when he found out about the damage, saying he could have cried. This isn’t the first time either; back on December 31, a red Kia got stuck on the pitches at Barlow Park, causing damage then too. He’s worried this ongoing issue is really hurting the club. Greater Manchester Police and Bolton Council have been contacted for comments on the situation.
