Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy gala will go ahead despite multiple party cancellations due to wildfires

The Recording Academy confirmed that the Grammy Awards will still take place as planned. Thankfully, Davis’ party and the MusiCares gala are still on. This year is special because it marks 50 years of Davis hosting this iconic event.
While he keeps the guest list and performers a secret, you can bet it’ll be a star-studded night. The Grammys this year will also focus on raising funds for wildfire relief, honoring the brave first responders who’ve been working hard to protect communities.
Davis is planning to include a charitable aspect at his bash to help wildfire victims too. The Recording Academy and MusiCares have already committed $1 million to support music professionals affected by the fires.
The wildfires have really shaken up the music industry, leading major labels like Sony and Warner Music Group to cancel their events. Even The Weeknd had to cancel his concert at the Rose Bowl because of the fires. He’s been vocal about wanting to support the recovery efforts on social media.
At his gala, Davis will honor Jody Gerson, the CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group. It’s a tough time for everyone, but Davis’ event is sure to bring some light amidst the chaos.
