Two standout sophomores reach 1,000 points, while Barrington’s Oliver Gray impresses and Young faces transfer challenges

Usually, players hit this mark in their senior year, but Davion Thompson from Bolingbrook and Jaxson Davis from Warren did it halfway through their sophomore seasons. This early achievement puts them in a rare position to aim for 3,000 career points, a feat only five players have accomplished in Illinois history.
Meanwhile, Barrington’s Oliver Gray is making waves. He’s been consistent, averaging 24.2 points, five rebounds, and three assists per game, with a solid 41% from three-point range. Gray has really polished his game, moving from a great shooter to a well-rounded player.
On the other hand, Young is facing some challenges. They’re still playing a tough schedule, currently sitting at 12-7 after a win against Fenwick. However, the team has lost five players, including standout Rykan Woo and top prospect Howard Williams, who transferred to Oak Hill Academy. Other players like Patrick Irvin and Rico D’Allesandro have also moved on, but they’re still making an impact in their new teams.
