Cenex is back with its Hometown Throwdown, giving $150,000 to support local festivals across the U.S.

Inver Grove Heights: Cenex is bringing back its Hometown Throwdown competition to support local festivals across the U.S. It’s all about celebrating community pride and local traditions.
This year, they’re dishing out a total of $150,000 to five festivals. The grand prize winner will snag a whopping $100,000! How cool is that?
From now until February 7, folks can share what makes their hometown festival special for a shot at that cash. The runner-up gets $20,000, while third place gets $15,000, fourth place $10,000, and fifth place $5,000.
Nominations can be submitted through an online form. They’ll announce five finalists on May 1, and then there’ll be a voting period, with the final results coming out on June 17.
Cenex’s Hometown Throwdown is all about honoring the local pride people have for their hometowns, especially through community festivals. Last year, over 500 festivals were nominated, and more than 7,000 people voted for the winner.
The Norborne Soybean Festival in Missouri took home the grand prize of $100,000, while the Hayward Musky Festival in Wisconsin and the Roseau Fall Harvest Festival in Minnesota each received $25,000.
