Carrie Underwood will sing at Trump’s inauguration, joined by the Village People at key events

Washington: So, guess what? Carrie Underwood is going to sing “America the Beautiful” at Trump’s inauguration next week. And the Village People? They’re performing at a couple of events too!
Underwood, who we all know from “American Idol,” will take the stage just before Trump is sworn in on January 20. She said she’s honored to be part of such a big moment for the country.
The Village People, famous for their catchy dance hits from the ’70s, will also be there. Their song “Y.M.C.A.” has become a bit of a rallying cry, especially at Trump’s events.
They’ll perform at one of the inaugural balls and a rally the day before the big day. The band mentioned on Facebook that they believe music should unite people, regardless of politics.
Other performers include country singer Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio. The inauguration festivities kick off this weekend with a fireworks show at Trump’s golf club in Virginia and a rally in D.C.
This inauguration is expected to feel different from the last one. Remember, Trump didn’t attend Biden’s swearing-in ceremony back in 2021. This time, he’s planning a big celebration with lots of events leading up to the swearing-in.
The inaugural committee has laid out a four-day schedule packed with activities. They’re aiming to show Trump’s commitment to uniting the country under his “America First” agenda.
On Saturday, Trump will have a reception and fireworks at his golf club. Then, on Sunday, he’ll lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery and hold a “MAGA Victory” rally where the Village People will perform.
Inauguration Day will be filled with events, including a tea at the White House, the swearing-in ceremony, and several balls. The Village People will perform at one of those balls, which is geared toward Trump supporters.
It’s interesting to note that this time, Melania Trump will join Trump for tea with the Bidens, unlike in 2021 when they skipped that tradition.
On Tuesday, Trump’s first full day as president, there will be a National Prayer Service. Greenwood will perform as Trump takes the oath, and Macchio will sing the National Anthem.
It’s shaping up to be quite the event, with a mix of music and celebration as Trump returns to the White House.
