Montreal Canadiens rookie Emil Heineman was hit by a car and will be sidelined for three to four weeks due to a wrist injury.

The team mentioned he has an “upper-body injury,” but his agent spilled the beans that it’s actually his wrist. The Canadiens were in Salt Lake City gearing up for a game against the Utah Hockey Club the next night.
Heineman, who’s just starting his first full NHL season, has been doing pretty well. He’s got 17 points this season, with 10 goals and seven assists. Not too shabby for a rookie! He even had a nice little run recently, scoring four goals and four assists over eight games.
Originally, he was picked by the Panthers in the 2020 NHL Draft, but his rights changed hands a couple of times before landing with the Canadiens in 2022. Before that, he was playing in the Swedish Hockey League.
As for the Canadiens, they’re currently sitting with 44 points in 42 games, just a couple of points shy of the Blue Jackets for a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference. Let’s hope Emil heals up quickly!
