Cameron Diaz reveals her focus on motherhood during her decade-long hiatus from acting

Now, she’s making a comeback in the Netflix movie “Back in Action,” which is set to premiere on January 17. Diaz, who’s known for hits like “Charlie’s Angels,” shared that during her time off, she really didn’t keep up with acting or training.
In a YouTube video for Netflix, she mentioned, “I did nothing public” and turned down many offers. Instead, she focused on her family and even started a wine company. Diaz emphasized that her main priority was being a mom and living her daily life.
She married Benji Madden in 2015, and they welcomed their daughter Raddix in 2019 and their son Cardinal in 2024. Back in 2018, she described herself as “semi-retired,” but later clarified that she was “actually retired.”
Diaz explained that stepping away from acting was necessary for her to reclaim her life. She said, “It really comes to: What are you passionate about? For me, it was to build my family.”
As she gears up for her return, she joins a trend of celebrities who have come out of retirement, like Tom Brady, who announced his return to the NFL after a brief retirement. It seems like the entertainment world is buzzing with comebacks, and Diaz is ready to jump back in!
