Bruno Fernandes has made his feelings clear about Alejandro Garnacho amid transfer links to Atletico Madrid and Napoli
Garnacho hasn’t been a regular starter under Ruben Amorim, and his chances have been pretty limited. He even got dropped from the squad that faced Manchester City before Christmas, alongside Marcus Rashford.
He’s still part of the squad but mostly comes off the bench. Recently, it was reported that he’s lost his ‘untouchable’ status, which he shared with a few other players.
Now, it seems like Garnacho could be on the chopping block since he doesn’t quite fit into Amorim’s 3-4-3 system. While he’s likely to stay at Old Trafford for now, there’s still uncertainty about his long-term future.
Napoli is reportedly interested in him as a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and there’s talk of a fee around £42 million being enough to let him go.
Despite all this transfer buzz, Garnacho started in the FA Cup match against Arsenal. He had a tough first half but managed to shine with a great assist for Bruno Fernandes’ opening goal.
After that goal, Fernandes really showed his support for Garnacho. He pushed him forward to soak in the cheers from the United fans, and you could see Garnacho was thrilled, punching the air with a big smile before heading back with the team.
