Brooke Shields shared a funny memory of Matthew Perry’s antics on the Friends set, highlighting how times have changed.
Los Angeles: Brooke Shields had a memorable experience when she guest-starred on Friends back in 1996. She recently shared some laughs on The View about her time on the show.
She played a character named Erika Ford, who was totally obsessed with Joey’s character, Dr. Drake Ramoray. Shields admitted she was a huge fan and just wanted to fit in with the cast.
But it wasn’t easy. The Friends crew had their own tight-knit vibe and inside jokes. One of the funniest moments she recalled was a prank Matthew Perry would pull.
She said, “You couldn’t do it now, you’d get canceled,” referring to how Perry would pretend to look up girls’ skirts. It was all in good fun, but definitely not something that would fly today.
Determined to make Perry laugh, Shields decided to turn the tables. She sprinted across the stage, threw herself down, and pretended to look up his pant leg. At first, it was silent, and she felt a bit silly.
But then, out of nowhere, Perry burst out laughing, and soon everyone joined in. He even asked her how she knew to do that. She told him it was just her way of thanking him for all the laughs he brought.
She joked about getting “rug burns all over [her] knees” from the stunt. It’s a sweet memory that shows how much fun they had on set.
