A Bronx gym teacher faces serious charges for exposing himself to special-needs students
Prosecutors say he exposed himself and did something even weirder with a container of Lysol Wipes while six students were watching. This all went down at P.S. 723, where the kids are aged 9 to 11 and have special needs.
The Department of Education called his actions “completely unacceptable” and said he’s been reassigned while they investigate. It happened around 8:45 a.m. on a Tuesday, and the kids and staff were understandably shocked.
Barschdorf reportedly wiped his buttocks with a Lysol Wipe and then put his penis inside the container, right in front of the kids. The staff quickly called the police, who arrested him on the spot.
Initially, he faced two counts of attempted lewdness, but the charges were upgraded to endangering a child’s welfare, harassment, and indecent exposure.
At his arraignment, the judge let him go without bail but told him to join a problem-solving court program. He’s due back in court on February 14. His attorney hasn’t commented yet.
