Vance Joseph, the Broncos’ defensive coordinator, is the latest candidate for the Jets’ head coaching role after Robert Saleh’s firing

Denver: So, the Jets are on the hunt for a new head coach, and they just interviewed Vance Joseph. He’s the Broncos’ defensive coordinator and has been making waves lately.
Joseph is the 10th candidate to sit down with the Jets after they let go of Robert Saleh. It’s been a busy time for the Jets, who are also looking for a new general manager.
His interview came right after the Broncos wrapped up their season with a tough loss to the Bills in the playoffs. But it seems like Joseph is in demand; the Raiders are also interested in chatting with him.
Joseph has been around the NFL for 20 years. He had a solid run as the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator back in 2016, leading them to their first playoff appearance in years.
He did have a rough patch as the Broncos’ head coach from 2017 to 2018, finishing with a not-so-great record. But he bounced back as the Cardinals’ defensive coordinator before returning to the Broncos.
This season, his defense really stepped up, ranking third in points allowed and first in sacks. Quite the turnaround from last year!
Joseph mentioned that it’s flattering to get interview requests and that it reflects the team’s success. He’s not rushing into anything, though; he’ll take his time if the opportunity arises.
His players have a lot of respect for him. Denver defensive tackle D.J. Jones praised him as a great leader and teacher. Sounds like he’s got a lot to offer!
The Jets are juggling interviews for both coaching and GM positions. They’ve got a long list of candidates, including some big names like Ron Rivera and Mike Vrabel.
