London: It’s a sad day for comedy fans. Tony Slattery, the talented British comedian, passed away on Tuesday at 65. His partner, Mark Michael Hutchinson, shared that Tony suffered a heart attack on Sunday night.

Slattery was best known for his role on “Whose Line is it Anyway?” which aired from 1988 to 1995. He really showcased his quick wit and charm, making him a favorite on Channel 4.

Back in 1986, he starred in the West End musical “Me and My Girl,” where he met Hutchinson. He also appeared in “Privates on Parade” in 1995, though that one didn’t get the best reviews. During that time, he struggled with addiction, using cocaine and drinking vodka.

In a 2019 interview, he reflected on his life, saying he had a great time until things went a bit off the rails. He even locked himself in his apartment and tossed furniture into a river! The river police had to step in, reminding him to stop polluting.

Tony was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which played a part in his struggles with addiction and finances. But through it all, Hutchinson stood by him, showing what unconditional love really means.

He leaves behind a “ferocious cat” named Molly and two siblings who passed before him. Slattery also had a notable film career, including a role in the Oscar-winning “The Crying Game” and “Peter’s Friends” alongside big names like Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson.
