Brian Bingman officially joins the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, taking on key regulatory roles in the state’s energy and utility sectors.

Oklahoma: Brian Bingman is now part of the team that oversees the state’s oil, gas, utility, and transportation sectors. He took his oath on Monday in a special ceremony at the capitol.
Surrounded by family, Bingman was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Dana Kuehn. He mentioned that he has a lot to learn as he steps into this important role.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead, saying, “There’s a lot of work to be done at the commission – a lot of challenges – and I think we’re ready to begin and move Oklahoma forward.”
This event also marks the end of Bob Anthony’s long 36-year tenure on the Commission. During his farewell, Anthony expressed his gratitude for serving in this capacity.
Bingman, a member of the Muscogee Nation, has a background in petroleum land management from the University of Oklahoma. He has held various public service roles, including being the mayor of Sapulpa.
After serving in the Oklahoma House and Senate, he resigned as secretary of state in 2023 to pursue this new position. His first meeting as a commissioner is coming up on Wednesday.
