Bruno Lobo, a Brazilian kite surfer, heroically rescued a woman from drowning during a training session in Sao Luis

He was testing some new camera gear when he decided to check it out. With the cameras rolling, he swam over to her. The conditions weren’t great, but he didn’t hesitate. He quickly calmed her down and told her to climb on his back.
Once she was on, he used his kite to glide them both back to shore. Lifeguards were waiting and took over with first aid. Bruno felt grateful, saying it was a day he was used as an instrument to save someone.
He reminded everyone to be careful around the water, especially in strong currents. Even though people are calling him a hero, he’s super humble about it. He just did what he felt was right.
The video of the rescue is pretty intense. You can see him steadying himself while she climbs on, and then they’re off to safety. The woman was so thankful, commenting on his post that she couldn’t express her gratitude enough.
Bruno’s no stranger to success, either. He’s got a gold medal from the 2019 Pan American Games and defended his title in 2023. He even competed in the 2024 Olympics. What a guy!
