Bolton: The latest primary school in Bolton to make the switch is Bolton Parish Church of England Primary School. They’re pretty excited about joining the academy, hoping it’ll open up some great opportunities for everyone involved.

The school officially became an academy on January 8, and they’re now part of the Archbishop Temple Church of England Multi-Academy Trust. This trust already includes four other primary schools, like Bishop Bridgeman CE Primary and St James CE Primary in Farnworth.

Cllr John Walsh, who chairs the academy trust, mentioned that they’re looking forward to helping Bolton Parish School improve even more. He noted that the process took a bit of time due to legalities, but they’re thrilled to support the school alongside others in the trust.

The folks at Bolton Parish Church Primary School expressed their happiness about joining the trust. They’re eager to collaborate with a skilled team and believe this partnership will bring exciting opportunities for both students and staff. They also recognize the benefits of having strong connections with other schools.

Interestingly, St John’s Church of England Primary School in Farnworth also joined the same trust back in November. This trend follows other local schools like St Teresa’s and Beaumont Primary, which opted for academy status earlier this year.

It’s worth noting that any school can apply to become an academy under the Academies Act 2010. When a school converts, it closes and reopens as an academy, but for students, it might feel like not much has changed. The real perk of joining a multi-academy trust is the chance to work together with a larger network of schools.
