Boca Raton: A police officer named Michael Super was involved in a fatal shooting last month. He’s been with the Boca Raton police since 2019 and has received several commendations for his work.

On December 18, he shot and killed 39-year-old Morey Clemmons during an encounter downtown. Not much info has been shared about what led to the shooting, and Super is currently on critical-incident leave.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is looking into the incident, focusing on whether Super’s use of force was justified. They haven’t released many details yet since the investigation is still ongoing.

Interestingly, Super has no prior use-of-force incidents on his record. He did get a written warning for a traffic crash earlier this year, which was deemed avoidable.

Super graduated from Florida Atlantic University in 2016 and worked as a police officer in Cape Coral before joining Boca Raton. He’s known for his efforts in saving lives and helping those in need.

Clemmons, the man who was shot, had faced challenges with homelessness but was remembered fondly by his family. They described him as a dedicated father and a hardworking individual who aimed to start his own business.
