Dalyce Curry, known for her role in “The Blues Brothers,” tragically died in a fire in Altadena, California, at the age of 95.

Curry, who also appeared in iconic films like “The 10 Commandments” and “Lady Sings the Blues,” lost her life in the Eaton Fire. Her family received confirmation from the LA County Medical Examiner that her remains were found in her home, which was completely destroyed.
Her granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, had just dropped her off at home before the fire broke out. Kelley mentioned that her grandmother was tired after spending the day at the hospital. The fire started just hours later, and Kelley didn’t expect it to escalate so quickly.
When Kelley received a text about a power outage at her grandmother’s house, she rushed back, but it was too late. A police officer informed her that the house was gone. They suggested she check the Pasadena Civic Center for her grandmother, where evacuees were being sheltered.
Sadly, they didn’t find Curry that night, and the family began to fear the worst. Kelley later visited the site of her grandmother’s home, which was reduced to ashes, except for her blue Cadillac.
Kelley had been holding onto hope for a miracle, but as the days passed, she felt less optimistic. Described as a part of Old Black Hollywood, Curry had a long career as a background actress in many legendary films.
Despite her age, her family said she was still very active and full of life. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Kelley expressed her grief, saying her grandmother had a profound impact on her life.
The recent fires in LA have been devastating, with at least 24 lives lost and thousands displaced, leaving a significant mark on the community.
