Blue Origin has delayed its New Glenn rocket launch due to a vehicle subsystem issue, with plans for a future attempt still in review
They were really looking forward to this launch, and it was supposed to happen between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Eastern Time. But after a few delays, they decided to stand down.
In a post on X, Blue Origin mentioned they needed to troubleshoot the issue, which would take them past their launch window. They’re now looking at when they can try again.
Before the launch, Jeff Bezos and the team were eagerly waiting at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. They initially aimed for a liftoff at 1:31 a.m., but it got pushed back several times, finally landing on 3:15 a.m.
Blue Origin had high hopes for this mission, wanting to reach orbit safely. They even said that landing the booster on the first try in the Atlantic was a big goal, but they were ready to learn from whatever happened.
As of now, there’s been no immediate word from Blue Origin representatives about the next steps.
