New reports reveal a concerning trend as Biden releases more Gitmo detainees, raising fears of increased terrorism.

New York City: Twenty-three years after the 9/11 attacks, shocking new intelligence shows that 234 former Gitmo detainees have returned to terrorism. That’s a staggering 32% recidivism rate, and many of them are still out there.
Despite this alarming trend, President Biden is quietly releasing more high-risk detainees from Guantanamo Bay. This move seems to be part of his effort to fulfill Obama’s promise to close the facility.
When Biden took office, he reversed Trump’s order to keep Gitmo open. Now, he’s pushing to empty it out, even though the remaining prisoners are considered the most dangerous by military intelligence.
Recently, Biden freed 11 Yemeni prisoners, all linked to al-Qaeda, including two bodyguards of Osama bin Laden. They were sent to Oman, where officials claim they’ll be monitored and rehabilitated.
However, Oman’s counterterrorism efforts have faced setbacks due to COVID-19, and their resources are limited. The State Department has pointed out that Oman’s ability to manage these detainees is questionable.
One of the released bodyguards, Sana Ali Yislam al-Kazimi, has a history of facilitating al-Qaeda activities and could easily slip back into his old ways.
Just six months ago, Oman abandoned 28 Gitmo detainees it had promised to reform, sending them back to Yemen, a known terrorist haven.
Some of these detainees had serious plans, like attacks in Djibouti and Ethiopia, and connections to the Taliban and al-Qaeda.
It seems like Biden’s new releases are making room for even more dangerous individuals, including an al-Qaeda operative who was tied to the 9/11 planners.
Critics argue that the idea of rehabilitating these terrorists is naive, especially given the history of detainees returning to violence.
Even more concerning, three other Gitmo detainees have been cleared for release, including an explosives expert and a key al-Qaeda member from Somalia.
Meanwhile, the mastermind of 9/11, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, is avoiding the death penalty thanks to a plea deal, which has many people outraged.
Despite the risks, Biden seems determined to clear out Gitmo, even with intelligence reports warning that many released detainees will likely return to terrorism.
Reports show that 234 of the 733 detainees released from Gitmo have re-engaged in terrorist activities, which is a staggering rate of nearly 32%.
Some detainees have claimed they’ve changed their ways, but many of these stories have been exposed as false, leading to a lack of transparency in the review process.
Even with assurances from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that each release was thoroughly reviewed, the public is left in the dark about how these decisions are made.
It’s alarming that resettling terrorists in countries like Saudi Arabia hasn’t stopped them from returning to violence. Many former detainees are still in contact with terrorist organizations.
Experts warn that the detainees Biden is sending to Oman will likely return to the battlefield, and with open borders, the threat could even reach the U.S.
As the situation unfolds, many are left wondering what the future holds for national security and the potential risks posed by these released detainees.
