ITV’s Good Morning Britain faced an awkward moment when comedian Jenny Eclair called out Ed Balls for not understanding her joke
Ed, who’s 57, was on the show with Susanna Reid when Jenny, 64, was sharing some laughs from her current tour. But things got a little uncomfortable when Jenny noticed Ed wasn’t getting one of her jokes.
She pointed it out, saying, “Ed’s looking a bit blank, I don’t think he got that joke!” and even repeated it. But nope, Ed still didn’t catch on. Susanna chimed in, joking, “Let’s hope you don’t have to explain the other jokes!”
Ed tried to play it cool, saying he was looking forward to her tour. But Jenny wasn’t done. She quipped, “If you do come, please sit at the back so I can’t see your baffled little face.”
She went on to say some people have great faces for comedy, while others, like Ed, just look confused. Ed then admitted, “To be honest, I’ve no idea what’s going on. Where am I?”
After the show, Jenny took to Twitter, now X, to share her thoughts, saying, “Job jobbed! I told a joke that Ed didn’t understand! Not my finest TV moment- ha!”
Later in the show, Susanna and Ed discussed breaking news about Jeff Bezos’ rocket launch, which had been delayed multiple times. They were trying to keep viewers updated, but it seemed like the news kept changing by the minute.
