Brisbane: A shocking case has emerged involving a social media influencer from the Sunshine Coast. She’s been arrested for allegedly drugging her one-year-old child to boost her online presence.

According to Queensland Police, the 34-year-old woman gave her child unauthorized prescription drugs while sharing their medical journey on social media. It’s pretty disturbing.

When police arrested her, she was chilling on her porch in pajama shorts, next to a bright pink cup. It’s a bizarre scene, to say the least.

They also found out she had set up a GoFundMe for her child’s medical expenses. The arrest happened in Underwood, Brisbane, on a Thursday morning.

Police say she was charged after tests for unauthorized medications came back positive. They allege she went to great lengths to get these drugs, even using old prescriptions from someone else in the house.

While her child was suffering, she reportedly filmed and posted videos online, trying to gain followers and donations. It’s just heartbreaking.

For legal reasons, the family’s identity can’t be revealed. Detectives believe she tried to hide her actions until hospital staff reported her in October. Thankfully, the child is now in safe care.

She faces multiple charges, including administering poison with intent to harm and making child exploitation material. Her court date is set for January 17.

Detective Inspector Paul Dalton called the alleged actions abhorrent, emphasizing that there’s no excuse for harming a child, especially one so young.

If found guilty, this could be Australia’s first high-profile Munchausen by proxy case. The GoFundMe for the family was shut down once the allegations surfaced.

GoFundMe stated they have a zero-tolerance policy for misuse of their platform and are cooperating with the police investigation.
