Volunteers for America PAC express frustration over unpaid rewards for their efforts in Musk’s petition campaign

Lancaster: A group of Trump supporters in swing states are feeling let down. They helped gather thousands of signatures for Elon Musk’s America PAC but haven’t seen any payouts yet.
Back in October, Musk promised to pay voters who signed petitions supporting the First and Second Amendments. Initially, they were promised $47 each, which later increased to $100 in Pennsylvania.
Participants were told checks would be sent by November 30. But many are still waiting, and the necessary paperwork was delayed. One organizer, Cameron Panase, was told he’d get a W-9 form in 24-48 hours, but it didn’t arrive until January 3.
Panase, who helped register students at Penn State, is owed about $30,000. He’s frustrated with the lack of communication, saying all he gets are automated emails directing him to a help desk.
Another volunteer, Cheré Woltz Oliver from Arizona, gathered over 200 signatures to fund her trip to Trump’s second inauguration. She has a ticket but can’t afford the flight or hotel because she hasn’t been paid.
Woltz Oliver expressed her disappointment, saying she believed in the cause and thought the money would come through. Now, she feels stuck and frustrated.
Despite Musk’s strong push for the initiative, many volunteers are left confused about when they’ll receive their payments. One Pennsylvania volunteer mentioned he was counting on the money for Christmas gifts for his kids.
America PAC has reportedly sent out 650,000 checks totaling $52.8 million, but those who collected over $600 are being paid last due to the W-9 processing. Volunteers feel they should be prioritized after all their hard work.
Many understand the process is complicated, but the silence from the PAC is what’s really bothering them. Woltz Oliver said she’s done a lot for the PAC and feels unheard.
Some participants have received offers that are much lower than expected. One North Carolina volunteer was told she was owed $7,520 but never received a check she was supposed to get.
She’s frustrated with the lack of updates and feels the whole process is a mess. There are concerns about whether the PAC is being honest or just disorganized.
A source close to the PAC mentioned that discrepancies in payments might be due to some volunteers referring people who didn’t meet the requirements. But many volunteers are feeling defeated and anxious about whether they’ll ever see their money.
