Spirit Lake: It’s been a year since Jemini Posey went missing, and federal agencies are still on the case. They believe that no one should stay missing, and they’re working hard to find her.

The U.S. Attorney for North Dakota, Mac Schneider, mentioned that the investigation is still very active. They jumped into action right after Jemini was reported missing on January 7, 2024.

Three federal agencies are involved: the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. They’ve even got extra help through the FBI’s Operation Not Forgotten.

Lori Conroy, an assistant U.S. attorney, is working on Jemini’s case daily, along with another case of a man named Isaac Hunt, who disappeared from the same area in March 2024.

Schneider emphasized that their main goal is to find these individuals. The families and the community deserve answers, and that’s what they’re focused on.

Even though it’s been months since anyone has seen Jemini or Isaac, investigators are taking their time and not rushing to conclusions. They’re committed to seeing this through.

The local community has also been active, organizing searches for both Jemini and Isaac. The Spirit Lake Tribal Council is offering a $20,000 reward for any information that could help locate them.

Interestingly, it seems that Jemini’s boyfriend, D’Angelo Hunt, is Isaac’s brother. However, Schneider didn’t confirm if the disappearances are connected.

He also didn’t share if there are any suspects in either case, saying it’s a fair question but not something he could discuss.

Schneider pointed out that the work of assistant U.S. attorneys starts long before someone goes missing. They collaborate with various agencies to ensure at-risk individuals are accounted for.

Since April 2022, the U.S. Attorney’s Office has handled 73 missing person reports in North Dakota, resolving 71 of them. Only Jemini and Isaac’s cases are still open.

Jemini was last seen leaving her home in Fort Totten. She was 21 then and is now 22. She’s 4-foot-7, Indigenous, with blue eyes and blond hair, weighing around 120 pounds.

She has a scar on her forehead and two tattoos: an infinity sign on her right ankle and “I-XIII-MMXX” on her right collarbone. She might have been wearing a yellow Nike hoodie.

Isaac was last seen leaving his dad’s place in St. Michael. He was 27 at the time and is now 28. He’s 5-foot-9, Indigenous, with brown eyes and black hair, weighing about 180 pounds.

Isaac has a scar above his lip and tattoos on his neck and arm, including an ace of spades and Superman tattoos. He was last seen in dark blue jeans, white Nike shoes, a gray Reebok hoodie, a black jacket, a white Adidas hat, and diamond earrings.
