Sheriff’s deputies issued 84 citations during a crackdown on off-road vehicle use in San Bernardino County

The operation ran from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at popular spots like Juniper Flats and Big Bear. It aimed to tackle the growing issue of illegal and unsafe off-road vehicle use.
During this time, deputies handed out 84 citations for various offenses. They were on the lookout for unsafe driving and the lack of safety gear. They also took the time to educate riders about legal areas and safe practices.
Three people ended up getting arrested, including a guy from Apple Valley who was caught riding a stolen motorcycle. He also had a felony warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle.
In total, deputies impounded four vehicles and recovered the stolen motorcycle. The Sheriff’s Department reminded everyone to enjoy off-roading responsibly and legally. They had help from local code enforcement and wildlife agencies to make this operation a success.
