The Georgia Chamber’s Eggs and Issues breakfast featured key leaders discussing state priorities and upcoming initiatives for 2025

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens also joined in, giving a warm welcome. He later held a press conference about security plans for the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and the College Football Playoff. Governor Kemp expressed gratitude for the support from local leaders and highlighted Georgia’s recognition as the best place to do business for the 11th consecutive year.
Kemp shared his thoughts on the state’s budget surplus, which he believes will help achieve fiscal goals in 2025. He plans to unveil a new budget proposal soon, focusing on water services and infrastructure projects.
He emphasized the need to stay focused in the new year, mentioning education reform, job growth, and balancing the budget as key priorities. Kemp pointed to Colquitt County as an example of a community benefiting from $42 million in infrastructure grants.
Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones spoke before Kemp, stressing the importance of addressing budget balancing, education, and childcare costs. He noted that lowering childcare expenses could help attract more employees. Jones, a business owner himself, aims to create a supportive environment for all businesses in Georgia.
